At 0200 on April 8th, Wicomico alerted Fire Box 74-1 for a house fire in the 900 block of State Street. Engine 741 arrived staffed with 5 with fire showing from 3 sides. 74-1’s crew pulled a line to the front door to begin extinguishment. 742 arrived and pulled a second line to the front, however due to hoarding conditions crews weren’t able to clear the first two rooms. 742’s crew repositioned their line to the Delta side to advance the line to the second floor through a window with a ground ladder. SFD Truck 2 was able to perform a quick search and set up for operations. Tower 81 crew assisted 742’s crew on the second floor until an order to evacuate was giving to division 2 units after fire had advance to the attic and through the roof. Shortly after all units evacuated and a defensive operation began. Units were on the scene for over four hours.
