Busy afternoon for Station 74
Friday, August 17, 2018

Busy afternoon for Station 74. First, a MVC car vs pole on Oak Branch Road. While enroute to that MVC, a second EMS call was alerted on the highway. Paramedic B74 and Rescue 74 continued to the MVC to find a single vehicle with a power pole down and obtained a patient refusal.

Paramedic A74 diverted from the MVC to the second emergency and obtained a refusal.

While obtaining refusals on both calls, Stations 74 Delmar, 79 Gumboro and 6 Parsonsburg were alerted for a residential structure fire off of Baker Road on the Delaware side. Paramedic A74 was close to the firehouse and responded back to staff Engine 74-3 which responded along with Rescue 74 and Paramedic B74. Upon arrival of Rescue 74, structure was found to be a chicken house with light smoke showing and a fire condition in the ceiling of the chicken house. A water can was used to contain the fire to the ceiling and upon Engine 74-3's arrival a 1” 3/4 hand line was pulled for further extinguishment. After overhaul units returned to service.
